Our mission is to model sustainable tourism practices for holistic retreat particiants and guests and offer eco-education about critical environmental issues facing the coastal ecosytems of the Sian Ka'an biosphere and surrounding area.
We are a unique organization, offering these types of vacation rentals and retreats inside the Sian Ka’an Biosphere - a nature reserve, where you will sleep in our handmade yurts on the beach surrounded by untouched jungle.
In the local Maya language MAYAB means "the land of the chosen ones". We invite you to join us at our intimate, eco-friendly retreat center for experiences that will change you forever.

THE SIAN KA’AN BIOSPHERE
Mayab Center is located within the boundaries of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere, a 1.3 million acre nature reserve and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We are committed to existing within the reserve in an environmentally sustainable manner.
FULLY CUSTOMIZED RETREATS AND VACATIONS
In addition to accommodations and meals, retreats include special excursions, and opportunities for learning, personal growth, and relaxation. These may include snorkeling, exploring ancient Mayan cities,and lectures by local biologists. To help you unwind, we may arrange a massage, a Mayan clay treatment, or yoga and meditation sessions.
OUR SPACE
Our dining area overlooks the ocean and jungle in our intimate and private setting. This space also serves as a gathering place for conversation and classes.
The five handmade palapa-yurts were designed to connect you to nature and suggest simplicity and luxury. They offer both privacy and the feeling of living in the open, allowing you to be in direct communion with nature. All yurts are just a 30 second walk to the beach.
